BANGOR, Maine — A woman was injured Monday afternoon when she attempted to swing around a car on Ohio Street and ran straight into a backhoe, Bangor police Officer Jason McAmbley said Tuesday.

“It was a backhoe versus sedan,” said McAmbley, a community relations officer.

The crash occurred about 1:15 p.m. during a string of seven property damage accidents reported to Bangor Police Department between noon and 3 p.m. Monday.

Brandi-Jo Dewitt, 22, of Bangor “was going around a car that was turning” when the 2000 Chevrolet car she was driving ran into the small front-end loader driven by Glen Tinkham of Holden, McAmbley said. The backhoe driver was not injured, the officer said.

Dewitt suffered an injury to her arm and was transported to an area hospital for the minor injury, the officer said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
