BANGOR, Maine — Miranda Lambert is coming back to Bangor, and this time around one of country music’s premier performers is bringing some reinforcements.

Lambert and Dierks Bentley will headline the 2013 “Locked and Reloaded Tour,” which will make its stop in Bangor at the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion on Friday, Aug. 2. Another country music big name will also be performing, as Kix Brooks, one half of Brooks & Dunn — one of the most commercially and critically successful duos in country music history — has been confirmed as a special guest and opening act.

Lambert was part of the lineup of acts during Waterfront Concerts’ first season in 2010. She and Eric Church played a show on Oct. 2 in front of an estimated crowd of 8,000 to 10,000 fans.

The last time she was here it was 2010, and here we are three albums later,” said Alex Gray, Waterfront Concerts promoter. “Now she’s one of the top faces in country and country music’s leading lady. Before, she was just starting to break out.”

This time around, tickets will range — at least initially — from $27.75 for lawn passes to $61.75 for general admission “pit” passes near the stage. Other tickets available are $51.75 and $41.75 for reserved seating. Ticket prices, which do not include any applicable service or convenience charges, are tentative and had not been finalized as of Monday afternoon.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, March 1 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased online at www.waterfrontconcerts.com or www.ticketmaster.com; in person at Mark’s Music store at Penobscot Plaza in Brewer; or by phone at 1-800-745-3000.

Gray said the word is out about Bangor as a tour destination, especially among country western acts.

“There’s no question. Jason Aldean’s quote last year was it was the best crowd of his season, and Zac Brown was very happy with the response of the crowd,” Gray said. “Prior to the success of Waterfront, we [Maine] had the occasional large show in Portland, but now we’ve proven we can draw large crowds to this regional area or the state in general, and not just the two biggest cities.”

Lambert had this to say in a press release about touring with Bentley:

“It’s especially great being able to take that music on the road with someone I respect as an artist and human being.”

This isn’t the first time the two country stars have toured together.

“Some of my favorite times on tour over the years were with Miranda and her crew,” Bentley said in the same tour media release. “We have a lot in common musically and our fans do too.”

Lambert — who has been named female vocalist of the year the past two years by the Country Music Association and the last three by the Academy of Country Music — has another streak going with her fourth studio album titled “Four the Record.” The album is the fourth straight to debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s top country albums chart, making Lambert the first artist in the chart’s 47-year-history to accomplish the feat.

Bentley, who has played in other Maine venues like the University of Maine and the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, is promoting “HOME,” his sixth studio album and one which also debuted at No. 1 on the charts. Three singles from the album have topped the singles charts, giving Bentley 10 total No. 1 singles as either a singer or songwriter.

Despite a successful 24-year music career, Brooks is promoting just his second solo studio album. “New to this Town,” which was released last year, is Brooks’ first solo effort since his self-titled debut in 1989. In between, he partnered with Ronnie Dunn to produce 23 No. 1 country hit singles, sell more than 30 million albums, win four Entertainer of the Year and two Grammy Awards, and become the best-selling duo in country music history.
