BANGOR – Richard Duncan Huggard, 79, passed away peacefully on the morning of Feb. 7, 2013, at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. He was born Feb. 21, 1933, in Houlton, the son of Robert and Lena (Nason) Huggard.
Richard graduated from Houlton High School, class of 1951. He then went on to become a corporal in the Marine Corps. He came home to marry his high school sweetheart, Nancy Daniels, and they lived throughout Maine. They celebrated 55 years of marriage in January 2013. Richard enjoyed a long career after becoming a printing journeyman as a printer for most of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his son, Richard Jr. and wife, Nikki Huggard, of West Granby, Conn.; daughter, Julie Kozloski and husband, Paul, of Somers, Conn.; daughter, Syndi Farley and husband, Charles Farley Jr., of Hampden; six grandchildren, Ryan Huggard of Portland, Evan Huggard and fiancée, Kimmie Hamley, of Whethersfield, Conn., Kate Huggard of W. Grandy, Conn., Olivia, Lillie and Annabeth Olson of Hampden; and a lifelong friend, Bob Fields of upstate New York. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed but always in our hearts.
