BANGOR, Maine — A woman living in Pray’s Trailer Park on Finson Road heard a loud sound Sunday afternoon and found a bullet hole in her dwelling when she went to investigate, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday.

“She was sitting on her couch and heard a ‘boom’” at about 1:15 p.m., the sergeant said. “She thought maybe someone threw a rock.”

The 53-year-old woman found a hole in one window and woke up her husband, who was in the other end of their trailer and didn’t hear the noise, and he called police.

When Officer George Spencer arrived to investigate, the couple showed him the hole and he determined it was caused by a bullet when he found another hole in the opposite wall.

The bullet, “exited [the trailer] through a picture on the other side,” Edwards said.

The investigation determined the bullet went straight through the trailer, the sergeant said. No one was injured and police are currently investigating where the shot came from and whether the person who discharged it should face charges, Edwards said.

“They’re still investigating it,” he said.
