ELLSWORTH, Maine — Police are looking for a missing Ellsworth man last seen on Christmas Eve.

Jonathan Spinney, 28, was last seen at an ex-girlfriend’s house on Ohio Street in Bangor, said Ellsworth Police Chief John DeLeo. Spinney is carrying a cell phone, but DeLeo said it had been disconnected.

Spinney has been living recently at the Sister Barbara Hance House in Ellsworth, a home for the long-term homeless. DeLeo said Spinney has a history of drug abuse.

Spinney was last known to drive a blue 2003 Pontiac Grand Am with a red and white pin stripe, sun roof and spoiler. The car’s license plate number is 4290TB. He is six feet, two inches and weighs about 180 pounds, with blond hair and hazel eyes, DeLeo said.

DeLeo said police consider Spinney to be in possible danger because of his history with drugs.

“The biggest concern people have for him right now is that drug use,” DeLeo said, though he declined to comment on the specific drug Spinney is known to use.

Anyone with information about Spinney’s whereabouts should contact the Ellsworth Police Department at 207-667-2168.
