BELFAST, Maine — A series of burglaries and thefts reported in August and October have led to more arrests, according to the Waldo County Sheriff’s Department.

Haden Campbell, 20, of Swanville was arrested on Monday, Dec. 3, and charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of theft and one count of stealing drugs. The charges came in response to burglaries and thefts at a residence in Waldo on Aug. 26 and in Swanville on Oct. 17.

The sheriff’s department reported that prescription medication, currency, copper and a Cruz brand tablet computer were taken from the Waldo residence. In the Swanville burglary, the owner reported the theft of jewelry and currency.

Charged earlier in connection with the burglaries was Austin Stevens, 18, of Swanville.

Christopher Sudsbury, 40, of Belfast also was arrested in connection with the incidents. He was charged with receiving stolen property. Police believe he traded a bag of marijuana for some of the stolen jewelry from the Swanville burglary.

The case was investigated by deputy Merl Reed.
