BANGOR, Maine — The driver of a pickup truck inexplicably lost control of his vehicle and plowed into two street signs, two parked cars and the front of a house before finally coming to a complete stop Monday afternoon.
“The cause is still under investigation, but the driver said he lost control of the steering and the truck pulled to the right,” said Bangor police Lt. Tom Reagan. “He doesn’t know what happened.”
The 1992 Ford pickup truck driven by Christopher Rosene, 43, of Bangor was headed northbound when it struck a 2009 Honda SUV parked on the right side of Hammond Street, went over the curb, knocked down a couple of signposts and drove through a small deck on the front of a house at 547 Hammond St. before plowing into another vehicle — a 2002 Jeep SUV — parked in a driveway before stopping.
The accident occurred around 2 p.m. Monday.
The deck of the house was totally destroyed and the pickup may be considered totaled, but the other two vehicles hit were not. No injuries resulted from the incident. Traffic on Hammond Street was not affected by the crash.
