STOCKTON SPRINGS, Maine — The man killed in a shooting during the weekend died of a gunshot wound to the chest, the state medical examiner’s office reported Tuesday.

Police have not released information about the weapon used to shoot David Linscott, 31, of Brooks early Saturday morning.

State police spokesman Stephen McCausland said Tuesday that Robert Tucker, 36, who police believe shot Linscott after a confrontation at Tucker’s home on Route 1, has been interviewed and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

No charges or further developments are expected to be announced this week, McCausland said.

“A number of people who were there at the time of the shooting or in the immediate vicinity have been interviewed,” and some will be re-interviewed, he said Tuesday. “We are trying to pinpoint what exactly happened that led up to the fatal shooting.”

Tucker declined comment when contacted at his home Monday.
