GOP candidate remains winner after recount in Senate District 17

AUGUSTA, Maine — Secretary of State Charlie Summers announced today that a recount of results from the General Election in Senate District 17 was conducted and completed today under the supervision of the Secretary of State’s Office.

At the conclusion of the recount in Senate District 17, Garrett Paul Mason, R-Lisbon, remained the winner. Colleen J. Quint, D-Minot, requested the recount after unofficial results from Election Day indicated that she lost the election. The recount determined that 9,818 votes were cast for Mason, while 9,790 were cast for Quint.

Seven candidate recounts have now been completed. There are seven candidate recounts remaining to be completed.
