WATERVILLE, Maine — A Waterville woman was charged with operating under the influence early Sunday after her vehicle crashed into a garage, according to police.
Carissa O’Connor, 27, originally denied being the driver of the car, according to Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey.
“The caller was [O’Connor], who reported that she had been involved in an accident and she didn’t know where she was,” Rumsey said.
Where O’Connor ended up was a garage at 145 Western Ave., Rumsey said. Her vehicle had left the road, crashed through a hedge and into the garage.
Rumsey said when police arrived, O’Connor was the only person in the vehicle, and officers determined that she was the driver, even though she was in the back seat.
O’Connor was charged with operating under the influence but not arrested, Rumsey said. She was taken to Inland Hospital for minor injuries and released.
