BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor transient known to police found himself in county lockup again Wednesday afternoon.
Officers Taylor Bagley and Josh Kuhn were on routine patrol on Essex Street around 4 p.m. when they saw Donald McMahon, 24, walking by, Sgt. Paul Edwards said.
McMahon had outstanding warrants for his arrest, Edwards said, and a search of the suspect allegedly produced a knife located under McMahon’s shirt.
Edwards did not indicate what McMahon’s warrants were for.
It’s not the first time McMahon has been caught with a knife, according to Bangor Daily News archives. In August 2011, police found two knives in his pants when he returned home after an alleged domestic violence incident.
McMahon was booked into the Penobscot County Jail and charged with trafficking in dangerous knives, the sergeant said. He remained at the jail on Thursday morning.
