WARREN, Maine — Selectmen will be working with Maine Municipal Association as it seeks to find a new town manager.

The board agreed Wednesday night to contract with the Maine Municipal Association for $4,900, said Board Chairman Doug Pope.

At the same time, the board is interviewing candidates to serve as an interim town manager. The board interviewed three candidates Wednesday and four on Friday, Pope said.

The chairman said he was satisfied with the timetable, noting that current Town Manager Grant Watmough will remain on the job through Nov. 26. Watmough announced his resignation Aug. 23 after 17 years on the job.

The candidates for the interim job include Rep. Wes Richardson, R-Warren, who will be termed out as a state representative at the end of the year. The other six are Warren Hatch, Martin Krauter, Glenn Aho, Justin VanDongen, Ron Grenier and Phillip Parr.
