Campaign aims to inform public about domestic violence

BANGOR, Maine — Spruce Run’s Knowledge Empowers Campaign includes an annual donation of books to Penobscot County libraries.

The campaign is designed to reach people throughout the county by offering books and resource information to library patrons in colleges, high schools and town libraries.

After being displayed in October, the books will become part of the library collection and will contain a faceplate with information about Spruce Run services and its hotline number.

Book titles are “Hear My Roar: A Story of Family Violence” by Gillian Watts, “Meeting Lizzy” by SarahBeth Carter and “Tornado Warning: A Memoir of Teen Dating Violence” by Elin Stebbins Waldal.
