Benefit set for South Thomaston man

SOUTH THOMASTON — A benefit dinner and raffle will be held Oct. 2 for a local man who is battling a brain tumor.

The dinner will begin at 5 p.m. at the People’s United Methodist Church on Chapel Road in South Thomaston. There will be lobster stew, lasagna, rolls, a salad bar and a large variety of desserts.

At 6:30 p.m., there will be a raffle with tickets drawn for lobster traps, quick boat haul outs, barrels of bait, lobster buoys, lobster trap heads, firewood, restaurant meals, hand-painted lettering for fishing vessels, trailer lights, fall decorations, sweatshirts and more.

The money will go to help Peter Ames with electric bills, heating fuel, food and transportation for treatments.
