Comments for: Barbara Bush, Ann LePage show up in person at Brewer school as Skype session goes live

Well done First Ladies, well done indeed.

What other prejudices are you teaching your children? Children learn by example. Is there something that either of these first ladies has done to you? Enlighten me. Mrs. Bush was a wonderful first lady and her husband was a hero who served his country. I guess you youngsters don’t know about history and one of the greatest generations this country has ever known.

If there is to be any compromise in Washington, D.C., it will take respect on both sides of the aisle and an end to lies and threats. Representatives and senators ought to be working on the issues that divide this country. But, that is something of which you would not approve.

Exactly what part of reading comprehension did you fail? By your comment it appears ALL of it.
And what exactly do you find objectionable about “Well done First Ladies, well done indeed”?
        Are you delusional?
Both Bush presidents and both their first ladies are among my favorites.
And don’t you dare preach to me about the greatest generation. My parents are part of it, and don’t ever refer to me as “youngster”.
And take your remaining comment and stuff it.
And it seems that eight other folks liked my comment and no one liked yours.

If you had read the remaining comment, it was positive regarding the first ladies. I liked your comment too. But, in reading mine, perhaps you could have noted that I was objecting to someone whose comments were totally negative. Scroll down to Bangorian, “If my kids went to Brewer schools, I would have kept them home today.”

To that post I was commenting.

          • Kevin_Of_Bangor

Then reply to Bangorian. You should edit your first post because it reads as nothing but a personal attack on phatom2driver.

Thanks. I think the gentleman got the message.

          • Kevin_Of_Bangor

I didn’t see you had address him over that point. I should have refreshed my page before posting.

Unfortunately, you posted your response to me and not bangorian….who is much deserved of your comments. But then whoever he is, is truly not worth responding to as all of his comments are caustic.

    Very nice.  Very nice indeed.

If my kids went to Brewer schools, I’d have kept them home today.

Wow, what did these two ladies ever do to you? And you think Paul LePage’s comments make Mainers look dumb!

    • Anonymous

What did these ladies ever do to you? That comment is more embarrassing than some of LePages!

    • Anonymous

From the sound of it, someone should keep you home.

      • Anonymous

I think they did for years.

its the lack of brains like you that keep the country falling behind.

Children learn by example, your attitude shows a poor example. First Lady Bush was forthright and gracious. What exactly did either of these first ladies do to have you be so negative? Furthermore, President Bush was a hero and fought for the freedom during WWII that you certainly make use of in your posts.

This is just awesome, putting the children first. Something the Bush family has been doing for a very long time.  Well played ladies.

When are the moderators going to wise up and ban Bangorian once ad for all?!?!

  • Kevin_Of_Bangor

I was just speaking with my daughter and she had no clue either ladies where present today. She told me she did see two men in suits but she had no clue they where Secret Service agents.

She smiled and waved to them but they didn’t reciprocate.

    2 great American women!

  • What a great story!  And what a memory those two women made not only for the students but the staff of the school as well…  I would like to think that despite which side of the “aisle” one is on, they can appreciate the caring and generosity these two women demonstrated today.

  • You mean Republicans actually learned how to use the “internets” ( “Internets” is a Bushism-turned-catchphrase used humorously to portray the speaker as ignorant about the Internet or about technology in general)……….. This is huge, maybe there is hope for the uneducated, anti-science, anti-technology, anti-evolutionary, hillbillies yet.

Do you have any idea as to what Mrs. Bush has done?  She has the Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation.  There is also the Barbara Bush Cancer Center in Southern Maine.  I think you are the one who needs to get an education.

Thanks for your grateful   students news informations.

This has nothing to do with politics. It’s a teacher who has created an innovating teaching plan for her students. Barbara Bush has done so much for education in our Country and is actually a person of the GOP who is honorable and respectable, she does not represent the current party at all. But again, this had nothing to do with politics. Cherrie MacInnes created a skype program “Chatting Across the USA” and she has skyped with a third grade class in every state, other countries and some political figures and celebrities. She’s brought new life to her students and she’s truly incredible. It’s sad that this has become political when it is about inspiring children. The message of the day was to “work hard and read read read” – no one, especially a parent, should argue with that.
