Kittery man, 57, among group arrested for prostitution in NC

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Police charged two men and two women with prostitution this week in the Myrtle Beach area.

Three of the people were charged by Myrtle Beach police and a fourth woman was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center on the same charge, according to jail records.

On Wednesday, Myrtle Beach police charged 57-year-old Mark Steven Evans of Kittery, Maine, with first-offense prostitution and arrested him at 601 Mitchell Drive, according to an arrest report. He was released on a cash bond of $781.

On Thursday, city officers charged John Robert Evans, 20, of Myrtle Beach with first-offense prostitution and liquor law violation at 2801 S. Kings Highway, according to an arrest report. Bond was set at $781 cash on the prostitution charge and no bond was set on the liquor law violation. John Evans is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center, according to jail records.

On Friday, Myrtle Beach police charged Ashley Renee Plandowski, 24, of Murrells Inlet with first-offense prostitution at 28th Avenue South and Ocean Boulevard in the city, according to an arrest report. Her bond was set at $781 cash.

Also late Thursday, Kimberly Nicole Magnum, 17, of Myrtle Beach was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center at 11:35 p.m. on a first-offense prostitution charge. Her bond was set at $469, according to jail records.

Information about the circumstances surrounding the arrests were not available from police.
