OAKLAND, Maine — A local man is facing charges after he threatened a family member with a knife Monday night, according to police.
David Easton, 64, of Oakland was charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, a Class C felony, and domestic violence assault, according to Capt. Rick Stubbert of the Oakland Police Department.
A 911 hangup led police to the scene, Stubbert said. The female victim was not injured.
“It is still under investigation,” Stubbert said.
When police went to arrest Easton, he was not cooperative, according to Stubbert.
Easton was booked into the Kennebec County Jail on both charges. If convicted of the criminal threatening charge, he could face up to five years in jail and up to a year in prison on the domestic violence count.
