Sidney woman suffers minor injuries in Waterville collision

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

WATERVILLE, Maine — A Sidney woman suffered minor injuries Wednesday in a collision at a busy intersection, according to police.

Nancy Ross, 65, had attempted to pass a turning vehicle driven by Andrew Couture, 50, of Augusta on West River Road, which is also Route 104, according to Waterville police Sgt. Daniel Goss.

Both vehicles were heading northbound, the sergeant said. Ross tried to pass Couture, who was in the left-hand turn lane, on the left, and when he turned, a slight bump sent Ross’ Subaru into a ditch.

Ross’ vehicle rolled over and she was treated for her injuries at Thayer Hospital and released. Couture was not injured.

Neither driver will be cited in the accident, Goss said.
