Pen Bay Chamber reinvents Chamber Challenge

ROCKPORT, Maine — “It’s not just another golf tournament,” said Robin McIntosh of the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce. The event, she said, is open to all, not just chamber members.

With the completion of last year’s merging of two local chambers, the organizers and sponsors of the Jaret and Cohn Chamber Challenge decided that this would be the year to create a new and different event.

The tournament will be held Friday, Sept. 14, at the Samoset Resort in Rockport. New this year is the addition of disc golf, tennis round robins and a Business After Hours party with music, awards and networking for players and chamber members.

Disc golf is new to the Samoset this year, said Nancy Schultz of Schultz Financial Services, chairwoman for the event, and it only has been available to guests of the resort.

Event sponsors are Jaret and Cohn Real Estate, Samoset Resort, The First bank, Fuller Chevrolet-GMC Inc., Schultz Financial Services and Horch Roofing.
