    “I can’t wait to put the pads back on and actually start hitting.” I hope these kids are informed about Chronic traumatic encephalopathy. 

    Also, I would question the dietetic motive of pushing Powerade on them. One would think they would be getting their energy from real food instead of just adding on additional empty calories. Water is best!

    “…can’t wait to put the pads back on and start actually hitting,” says the boy. Why wait? What’s been holding him back? Isn’t there a tree or a brick wall nearby, or something else he can “hit?”
    Then again, for some there is nothing quite like knocking another person on his keester – or worse. If it wasn’t for the luxury offered by football, he might be doing the same at a bar. Wait, some of ’em do that too. Concussions? Those are for sissies, right? Real guys don’t get concussions – they get their bells rung, haw,haw. Yes. it’s the season again, so we get to hear a lot of thumping of padded chests. zzzz…..
