ELLSWORTH, Maine — The Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce has hired a new chief to replace Micki Sumpter, who has left the organization to take a post with the city.
The new executive director will be Tony Cameron, former director of marketing and membership sales for the Bar Harbor Chamber. Cameron has a degree in business administration from Saint Joseph’s College and serves as public relations chairman for the Bar Harbor Rotary Club.
“This is an outstanding organization and I’m looking forward to working with the membership and community,” Cameron said in a news release.
Cameron will take the helm at the Chamber on Aug. 27. He replaces Sumpter, who has taken on the full-time position of economic development director at City Hall.
