BANGOR – Henry J. Cyr, 95, went home to be with the Lord, July 28, 2012, at his home, with his wife of 37 years by his side. He was born July 20, 1917, in St. John, son of Xavier F. and Leonie (Albert) Cyr.
Henry had a remarkable love for people and for the work of God.
Henry is survived by his wife, Patricia Hart Cyr; children, Evelyn Drake Kinney of Bucksport, Yvette Funderburk and husband, Bob, of Auburn, Ala., Ruth Kulback and husband, Steve, of Elliot, Anne Jackson of Jacksonville, Fla., David Cyr and wife, Becky, of Montgomery, Ala., Philip Cyr and wife, Diane, of Brewer, and Jonathan Cyr and wife, Carrie, of Lebanon; 26 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Henry was predeceased by his former wife, Jennie Giles Thompson; son, Paul Cyr; and granddaughter, Rachelle.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at First Assembly of God, Bangor, with Pastor Phil Mumford officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the church after the service.
