Police identify victim of fatal Bucksport crash

BUCKSPORT, Maine — A woman who died Saturday in a single-vehicle accident in Bucksport has been identified by police as 47-year-old Lynne Blake of Blue Hill.

Police have released few details about the accident, which occurred about 12:15 p.m. Saturday on Route 15 just south of the intersection with Town Farm Road.

Bucksport police Sgt. David Winchester said Blake was a passenger in a pickup truck being driven by 49-year-old Steven Blake, also of Blue Hill. Police could not confirm the relationship between the two Blakes, but Lynne Blake’s Facebook page says they are husband and wife.

After the accident, Steven Blake was brought to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with injuries Winchester described as “serious, but not life-threatening.” The hospital on Monday could not provide any information about his condition.

Police are investigating the accident and Winchester said he couldn’t say whether charges would be filed.

“Reconstruction is ongoing,” he said. “We won’t know much until the investigation is complete.”

Blake’s was the second fatal accident in Hancock County in about two weeks. On June 29, a 23-year-old Freedom man was killed in Ellsworth when his pickup truck veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a heavy-duty truck pulling a camper.
