RICHMOND, Maine — Police arrested a Bowdoin man for allegedly assaulting a police officer while intoxicated early Sunday morning.
Bradley Charron, 26, of 297 West Road, Bowdoin, was arrested Sunday at 1:24 a.m. after police went to a Brunswick Road home for report of a man banging on the door, according to a release from the Richmond Police Department. When Richmond Police Officer Josh Staples arrived, “he found an intoxicated male wearing nothing but his boxer undershorts.”
When asked to step away from the door and off the porch, Charron reportedly assaulted Cpl. Ian Alexander of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department, who had responded to assist Staples. Alexander was not badly hurt.
Police don’t believe Charron knows the homeowner at the address where he was knocking. Officers did see some clothing on the ground near Charron, but when asked if the garments belonged to him, Charron did not answer.
Garbed in nothing but his boxers, Charron was taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick and then to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.
