ST. AGATHA – Anna Gervais, 94, died peacefully June 19, 2012, surrounded by her family at Ridgewoods Estates. She was born July 12, 1917, in St. David, daughter of Eddie and Laura (Cyr) Sirois.
Her religious faith was strong and was a lifetime member of Les Dame de St. Anne, St. David and St. Agatha. Anna was the oldest daughter of Eddie and Laura Sirois. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and knitting.
She is survived by three daughters, Rachel Roy of Madawaska, Lorraine and husband, Reginald Reed, of Caribou and Hermance and husband, Philip, of St. Agatha; one son, Richard Gervais of Madawaska; one sister, Marie Mae Cote of Berlin, Conn.; 10 grandchildren, Regan Roy and wife, Diane, Ruth Geary and husband, Mike, Mark Roy and wife, Renae, Michelle Smith and husband, Johnny, Celeste Hanish and husband, Brian, Joyce Strang and husband, Jeff, Stacy Evasius and husband, John, Jill Turner and husband, Kevin, Tracy and Sarah Gervais; 16 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Saul, in 1990; two sons, Roland and Roger; one son-in-law, Babe Roy; seven brothers, Lewis, Ned, Leon, Lawrence, Walter, Reno and David; three sisters, Emelda Chamberland, Blanche Fongemie and Irene Emond.
Friends and relatives may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 21, and 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday, June 22, at Michaud Funeral Home, St. Agatha. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. at St. Agatha Catholic Church with the Rev. Phil Cyr, who will officiate the burial at St. Agatha Lower Cemetery.
