BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor woman was arrested early Tuesday morning after refusing to quiet down in Pickering Square.
Tina Peterson, 49, was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge after Bangor police were called to the public square to look into a report of a screaming woman, Bangor police Sgt. Bob Bishop said Tuesday evening, citing an arrest report.
There they found Peterson and issued a disorderly conduct warning, Bishop said. He said that despite the warning, Peterson continued her rowdy behavior, which involved what police called “coarse” language and gestures, some of it aimed at police officers.
Peterson was taken to Penobscot County Jail, where she remained Tuesday night. She is scheduled to make a court appearance Wednesday at the Penobscot Judicial Center, a jail official said.
