MARIE YVONNE WILLETTE

OLD TOWN – Marie Yvonne Willette, 84, wife of the late Arthur F. Willette, died March 27, 2012, at a Bangor hospital with family at her side. Born Aug. 4, 1927, she was the daughter of Albert and Alice (Dionne) Lagasse.

Yvonne lived in the Orono/ Old Town/Eddington area all her life and was most closely connected with those who lived in Old Town, where she grew up on French Island. She attended Holy Family Parish where she was a member of Daughters of Isabella. She also was a member of the Old Town Senior Citizens group, having served as president at one time. She was a woman who had great pride in her family and always found enjoyment being with them and telling others about them. Her peanut butter fudge was a favorite treat for all.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, who she considered to be her children as well, Donald and Janice Willette of Veazie, David Willette of Eddington, Christine and Mikele Spearing of Bangor, Paul and Caryl Willette of Old Town, and Cynthia and Larry Hazelwood of Limestone; grandchildren, Scott and Kara Willette, Andrew and Nicole Willette, Judy and Jason Dembowski, Kerri and Kevin Lang-Courtemanche, Jason and Christine Spearing, Ryan and Katrina Willette, Lisa and Luke White, and Kevin Hazelwood; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Abigail and Jack Willette, Trista Olmstead, Scott Jernigan and James Treager Courtemanche; siblings, Connie St. Louis, Albert and his wife, Elda, and James and his wife, Donna; aunt, Lucienne Cloutier; special cousin, Theresa Hart; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Yvonne was predeceased by her brothers, Pete, Morris and Pat Lagasse; and sisters, Lillian LeBretton and Marie Stormann.

Friends and family are welcome to call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, March 30, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated noon Saturday, March 31, at Holy Family Church, of Resurrection of the Lord Parish, 429 Main St., Old Town.
