Worcester State baseball team sweeps Southern Maine

AUBURNDALE, Fla. — Junior Nick Gezotis went 6 for 9 with five RBIs as the Worcester State University Lancers swept the University of Southern Maine Huskies, 8-3 and 8-4, in a pair of seven-inning baseball games Thursday.
The sweep helped the Lancers snap a four-game losing streak and improve to 4-8. The Huskies had their four-game winning string stopped and fell to 5-3.
For USM, senior Anthony Pisani and sophomore Forrest Chadwick two hits apiece in the opener. No USM hitter had more than one hit in the second game.
Sophomore reliever Matt Powers, the second of four USM hurlers, took the loss in the opener. Rookie Alex Tobey, making his first collegiate appearance in the nightcap, went 4.1 innings and took the loss.

Wooster 14, Colby 2
At Fort Myers, Fla., Wooster College scored 10 runs over the final three innings to hand Colby the loss.
Nik Atsalis had a double and single for Colby, now 3-5. Colby scored two runs in the fourth inning on a bases-loaded walk by Taro Gold and a Wooster error.
