Brewer man accused of yelling, swearing at officers during assault investigation

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

BREWER, Maine — A Brewer man was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge on Saturday afternoon after he wouldn’t stop swearing at officers while being served a summons, according to police.

Police originally were called to a North Main Street apartment by a man who said that Roland Devoe, 47, assaulted him, said Brewer police Lt. Chris Martin. Devoe allegedly yelled and swore at officers during the investigation.

“They kept warning him and he wouldn’t stop, so he was arrested,” Martin said.

The victim suffered minor cuts and bruises but did not require a trip to the hospital.

Devoe, who also was charged with assault, was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and later released.
