Credit to this family for not only coping with a tragedy but utilizing it as motivation to do positive.  There is no doubt they are making an impact – thank you and sympathies to the family.  I could not imagine.

  • Heartbreaking.  That’s my hometown in CT where she was killed.  Probably only a couple miles from the home where I grew up.  We had a case I remember when a teen ager was killed on his way to school in the morning by a drunk. MADD was new then, and the family of that poor young man became very involved as well. Turning tragedy to opportunity is a terrific way to aid the healing process.

What kind of “human” doesn’t even express remorse, even if false? I wonder what the driver is doing these days. And he is still drinking? May he be pay for his crime somehow someday. Such a sad story, but such a tribute to the surviving sister’s compassion and decency.

Wanna bet that SOB has been back out on the street for years? Wanna bet he’s still drinking and driving?

So heartbreaking and completely avoidable. When a drunk driver kills someone, it should be treated as murder.
It is so very simple to make plans to call a taxi, instead he made the choice to sit down at the bar and continue to drink with no regard to anyone else.  He may have been impaired at the time of the accident, but he wasn’t when he made the move to drive to the bar with intentions of getting drunk.

I went to pick up a friend after her shift at the bar last night and I couldn’t believe how many staggering drunk idiots were getting into vehicles… just mindboggling how some people have no common sense and no regard for their lives or innocent people surrounding them.

Shouldn’t the title be that she plans to complete the walk? ‘Completes’ implies that she has already done so….

Someone once gave me crap for writing that Jen Lynds  is a great writer and story teller. But I will ignore that anonymous source and say it again. Her feature stories make me cry. I love reading them.

I’m concerned there is a Robert A. Milefski who has a trucking business in Uncasville, CT…basically the same place as Montville, CT..
