Yarmouth teams sweep B state ski titles; Kieffer, Lalor are skimeisters

The Yarmouth High School boys and girls ski teams captured Class B state titles Thursday after three days of competition covering four events at Big Rock in Mars Hill and the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle.

Ginger Kieffer of the Caribou Vikings and Crockett Lalor of the Camden Hills Windjammers captured the skimeister girls and boys titles, respectively, with Kieffer totaling 71 points in the four events and Crockett recording 119. The skimeister title is awarded to the top skier who competes in all four championship events.

The Yarmouth girls finished first with 123 points and Caribou finished second with 251. Trailing the Vikings were Camden Hills (280), Mount Abram of Salem (284), Maranacook of Readfield (327), Gray-New Gloucester (419) and Presque Isle (525).
