Lincolnville Center church plans activities during Lent

LINCOLNVILLE, Maine — The United Christian Church will hold a series of special services during Lent.

“Music and Reflection for the Season of Lent” will be held at 4 p.m. Sundays, beginning Feb. 26. The 45-minute programs will include performances by local musicians, selected readings and a time for quiet reflection.

Ann McCullough will perform an organ recital the first Sunday featuring the music of J.S. Bach and Dale Wood. HeartSong, the Waldo County-based hospice choral group, will perform March 4. The Rev. Susan Stonestreet will offer a healing service accompanied by folk music.

McCullough and flutist Mary Schulien will perform a program titled “Celtic Spirit” on March 18. The final program will feature pianist and composer Clayton Clemetson.

Reflections for the eyes, mind and heart will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning Feb. 29. The program will include a time of reflection, the viewing of work by local artists, and quiet conversation with the Rev. Susan Stonestreet, pastor of the church.

United Christian Church is located on Route 173 in Lincolnville Center.
