OLD TOWN, Maine — A Milford teenager who was arrested late last week on an active warrant racked up an additional charge after he was taken to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor.

Zachary Day, 18, was on Oak Street in Old Town when Old Town police Officer Brent spotted him and recognized him as a wanted person, Sgt. Michael Hashey said Tuesday evening, citing an arrest report.

While he was undergoing the jail’s intake process, corrections officers found on his person a Percocet, which Hashey said contains the powerfully addictive painkiller oxycodone. That discovery led to a Class C felony charge of unlawful possession of a scheduled drug, Hashey said.

Day since has been released on bail, Hashey said.
