Comments for: Former Bangor Band leader dies in Maryland

He passed on the 5th and his service was on the 14th and it is just hitting BDN!!  What is the sense with it this far out!!  Really slacking off BDN.  With all the electronic equipment, this is unexcusable.

Point of clarification….Gordon guest conducted the Bangor Band in 2009,2010, and 2011.  He will be missed.

  • Robert Bowie

This is one of my distant cousins, we spoke over the years and did alot of family research in our Scottish History.  Always a Gentleman, and will be missed.  Doc Bowie

  • Perhaps the article meant to say “one of the last times he conducted the band”?

The concert Lori was talking about with the bad weather was in 2010. We were very much hoping he would be with us in 2009, our 150th anniversary. But that year, Gordon was not feeling well enough to make the trip north. We were very fortunate to have him conduct his magic with us one more time, last summer at Chapin Park.

Thanks for picking up on the dates. You are so right that he will be missed.

The Band will be remembering Gordon on Sunday, May 6 at our annual Memorial Concert, 3:00 at All Souls Church.
