Man’s body found in Bath hotel room

By BETH BROGAN, Times Record

BATH, Maine — The body of a 35-year-old Bath man was discovered Saturday afternoon in a room at the Hampton Inn on Commercial Street.

Police believe Sean Duffy, 35, of Front Street died from a drug overdose. Investigators await results of an autopsy scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

Bath police went to the hotel at 3:05 p.m. Saturday after hotel staff reported finding the body in a guest room, Bath police Lt. Stan Cielinski said Tuesday. Bath rescue personnel also went to the hotel, but “it was apparent that he was deceased,” Cielinski said.

The Maine medical examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy Tuesday afternoon, but Cielinski said that after initial interviews, police do not suspect any foul play.

“At this time, it appears to be an overdose, but we have to make sure we cover all the bases,” he said.
