PORTLAND, Maine — New Boston Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine is coming to Maine.

Valentine will attend the Portland Sea Dogs’ annual Hot Stove Dinner on Jan. 13 at the Sable Oaks Marriott in South Portland. The Sea Dogs are the Double-A affiliate of the Red Sox.

The Portland Press Herald said Boston catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Seattle Mariners pitcher and Maine native Charlie Furbush are also on the guest list.

Proceeds from the dinner go to the Sea Dogs’ Strike Out Cancer in Kids charity, which benefits the Maine Children’s Cancer Program.
