Why hasn’t First Wind started blasting away at Bull Hill?

In a word: financing. The government, banks and private investors are taking a critical look at the wind scam and deciding it is not a sustainable business model.

Kahuku Wind LLC (First Wind) is named in a class action lawsuit which claims they received a $117 million Federal loan guarantee without the scrutiny required by law.

The same lawsuit names Record Hill Wind (Independence Wind – Angus King) which received a $102 million Federal loan guarantee.

It also names now-defunct Solyndra. Anyone see a pattern here?

    Details are available at:   http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/12/prweb9012666.htm

Without access to the taxpayer trough, wind projects must make financial sense on their own. Land-based wind in Maine does not. It’s as simple as that.
