Farmington high school pupil expelled over bomb threat

The Associated Press

FARMINGTON, Maine — A student at Mt. Blue High School has been expelled and faces criminal charges after allegedly making a bomb threat earlier this month.

Police say 18-year-old Andrew Coscia faces a charge of terrorizing in connection with the Dec. 9 threat, which forced administrators to bus the school’s more than 700 students to alternate sites for the day. Coscia has been summoned to court on Feb. 24.

The Morning Sentinel reports that the school board unanimously voted this week to expel an 18-year-old male student this week. Police confirmed that Coscia was the student expelled.

Police and school officials are still investigating two other bomb threats at the school last month, although Coscia isn’t a suspect in those incidents.
