WATERVILLE, Maine — A local man is facing theft and alcohol possession charges after police reportedly discovered he had taken two items from a Cumberland Farms store late Friday night.

Jordan Doolan, 18, was arrested and charged with theft and possession of alcohol by a minor after Waterville police Officer Brian Gardner discovered Doolan had taken a bottle of liquor and a candy bar from the store, according to Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey.

Rumsey said that Gardner was at the store making a purchase when the officer noticed the suspect acting bizarrely in the parking lot.

“When the guy came out, he attempted to engage in conversation,” Rumsey said, also noting the suspect fled around the side of the store.

When Gardner confronted Doolan, he allegedly discovered the bottle of liquor and candy bar and arrested him.
