BANGOR, Maine — A local man assaulted his girlfriend Monday night and she assaulted him a short time later, according to police.

“He got arrested for domestic violence and she did, too,” Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Tuesday.

Timothy Stitham, 44, and Kimberly Sprague, 42, were charged with domestic violence assault.

Police initially responded to the couple’s home at around noon but Sprague was uncooperative and left the area, Edwards said. She was picked up by an officer and was given a ride to a residence on Smith Street.

Stitham then arrived at Smith Street and “the next thing you know, she was beating up on him,” the sergeant said.

Both were taken to the Penobscot County Jail and have been released, Edwards said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
