YORK, Maine — Police are on the lookout for a man they say robbed a Savings Bank of Maine in York on Wednesday morning.

A man entered the bank and demanded money from the tellers. The suspect said he had a gun, but no gun was shown. The suspect reportedly fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as 5-foot, 8-inch white male of medium build and approximately 35 to 45 years old, according to York Police Chief Douglas Bracy.

Bracy said the suspect was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, bluejeans, black gloves and a black watch cap pulled down over his face with eyeholes cut out.

Anyone with knowledge of the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call the York Police Department at 363-4444.
