BANGOR, Maine — A public memorial service for the Rev. Robert Carlson will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bangor Auditorium.
The Rev. Carl Schreiber of East Orrington Congregational Church will officiate at the memorial service, which will be followed by a public reception next door at the Bangor Civic Center, according to Bass Park complex director Mike Dyer and Brookings-Smith funeral director Gary Smith.
Because of construction for the new arena and events center, Dutton Street remains closed, so the only entrances available are both on Buck Street — the main entrance to the civic center parking lot and the harness horsemen’s entrance at the higher end of Buck Street. The auditorium’s main parking lot will be open.
“They may have no parking signs on one side of Buck and other neighboring streets, so people will have to watch where they park,” said Dyer.
Carlson, 68, drowned after jumping off the Penobscot Narrows Bridge early Sunday morning, officials said.
