Five Rotary clubs from midcoast Maine kicked off Rotary International's End Polio Now Campaign recently with a marathon walk from Belfast to Rockland. Approximately 100 Rotarians and their families raised nearly $10,000 for the cause. Their contribution will be matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation with a grant of up to $350 million. Over the past 20 years, Rotary has raised more than $1 billion for End Polio Now. Belfast, Camden, Rockland, West Bay and the Camden Hills Interact clubs participated in the walk.
