WARREN, Maine — The public is invited to join the Warren Field and Garden Club at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Dr. Campbell House, 224 Main St., to hear a talk by Lee Schneller Sligh on her best-selling book, “The Ever-Blooming Flower Garden: A Blueprint for Continuous Color.” The talk will be followed by a book signing.
The one-hour slide talk introduces participants to a simple and reliable technique Schneller Sligh developed for designing continuously blooming perennial gardens. Participants will see slides of gardens designed using the revolutionary design technique which first was publicized in 2004 in an article in Fine Gardening magazine.
Schneller Sligh started her gardening business in 1995 in South Thomaston and has designed and built more than 200 gardens. She lived extensively in Asia and specializes in Japanese-inspired, naturalistic and continuously blooming gardens.
The Warren Field & Garden Club welcomes guests and new members from surrounding towns to participate in its programs. For more information, call the club’s co-presidents, Irene Maxcy at 273-3701 or Dorothy Robinson at 273-2527.
