DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — A large amount of tools and other items were taken during break-ins at three camps in Piscataquis County over the past few weeks, police said Monday.
An Ambajejus Lake camp owner in Township 1 Range 9 reported the theft of miscellaneous tools from his camp and shed, Investigator Guy Dow of the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department said Monday. Doors were pried open to gain entry. Stolen from the camp were a television set with remote, liquor and fishing tackle. An outboard motor, a battery charger, fishing poles and a chain saw were missing from the shed.
An Ebeemee camp owner in Township 4 Range 9 reported Sunday that the door to his camp had been pried open. The stolen items included miscellaneous tools, two generators, a chain saw, an air compressor, a nail gun and two miter saws, Dow said. The break-in occurred within the last two months.
On Monday, a Bowerbank camp owner reported that someone had broken into his camp and taken tools, rakes and a stepladder.
All three break-ins are being investigated by the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department.
