ORONO, Maine — A Corinth woman who tried to walk out of the Bell’s IGA on Stillwater Avenue on Friday without paying for two dog bones she had concealed in her purse was arrested and taken to jail, Orono police Capt. Josh Ewing said Monday.

Jennifer Dow, 36, was noticed by store employees concealing the stolen items and then was stopped when she attempted to leave the store at around 11:45 a.m. without paying for them, Ewing said.

The two dog bones were valued at $3.85.

Dow was arrested on a charge of theft and taken to the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor. She was later released, Ewing said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
