Northport Music Theater presents musical

Soprano Kathleen Christie will star in the one-woman show, “Sister Robert Anne’s Cabaret Class,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24 and Friday and Saturday, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1; and 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Sept. 25 and Oct. 2.

NORTHPORT — Northport Music Theater will present its first fall musical since the theater opened in 2000. “Sister Robert Anne’s Cabaret Class,” written by Dan Goggin. a one-woman show will open Friday, Sept 23, and continue for two weekends through Sunday, Oct. 2. The show is directed by Tobin Malone, with music direction by John Gelsinger.

“Sister Robert Anne’s Cabaret Class” takes place in a classroom where Sister Robert Anne gives out clues on how to fashion your own cabaret show while entertaining the audience with vocal talent, humor and show-stopping energy.

The show stars Kathleen Christie, soprano, of Lincolnville, a Northport Musical Theater veteran. She also has appeared as a soloist at area churches and in the annual Maine Pro Musica concert at Strom Auditorium in Camden. She works at the Long Funeral Home in Camden and studied vocal performance at the Philadelphia College of Bible.

Ruth Gelsinger, founder of the theater and artistic director, will serve as accompanist. Music direction will be by John Gelsinger. Set and costume design will be by Emily Widdoes and lighting design by Jay Rosenberg.

Show dates are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24, and Friday and Saturday, Sept 30 and Oct. 1; and 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Sept. 25 and Oct. 2. Tickets are $25 for Friday and Saturday shows, $20 for Sunday shows.
