Search continues for Dexter town manager candidates

By Diana Bowley, BDN Staff

DEXTER, Maine — The Town Council has readvertised the position of town manager, according to Council Chairman Roger Brawn.

The council had narrowed the field of candidates to one in the first round, but the final candidate was unwilling to move to Dexter, so the position has been readvertised, according to Brawn.

The position became vacant when David Pearson resigned last month effective Sept. 1. He immediately accepted a similar position in neighboring Sangerville.

Brawn said it may take several weeks before a new town manager is hired. In the interim, he and Town Clerk Shelly Watson will handle day-to-day town manager functions.
