OWLS HEAD, Maine — Antique and vintage motorcycles are taking center stage this weekend in Owls Head.

The Owls Head Transportation Museum’s two-day Vintage Motorcycle Meet and Antique Aeroplane Show kicks off Saturday. During the event, the museum will showcase its collection of motorcycles, which includes an 1868 Roper Steam Velocipede, a 1901 Steffy Motorbike, a 1919 Harley-Davidson J and a 1922 Royal Enfield.

There also will be an antique airplane show, coastal biplane rides and appearances from Maine motorcycle riders who recently participated in races in northern Maine where they rode at more than 190 mph.

Owners of pre-1991 motorcycles who exhibit their bikes will be admitted free of charge.
