BANGOR, Maine — The Bangor Police Department has announced the following street closures and parking changes to accommodate attendees of this weekend’s BB King, Carnival of Madness and Lady Antebellum concerts at the Bangor Waterfront.
The gates for the BB King performance open at 5 p.m. Saturday, Bangor police Sgt. Chip Hodges said in a news release issued Friday. He said the gates for Sunday’s Carnival of Madness show open at 10 a.m. Sunday and the Lady Antebellum gates will open at 5 p.m. Monday.
In preparation for the three Labor Day weekend concert events, the following roads or portions of roads will be closed at noon Saturday and stay closed until after the Lady Antebellum concert Monday night:
— Railroad Street, from Main Street to Front Street.
— Front Street, from the Sea Dog to Railroad Street.
— Summer Street, from Cedar Street to Railroad Street, will be blocked at Cedar Street and open to local traffic only.
Handicap parking will be provided along Front Street, Hodges said. All on-street parking spaces from the Sea Dog restaurant to Railroad Street will be temporarily posted for handicap parking. Approximately 20 spaces will be reserved for that purpose. Event staff will be on site to assist those in need of handicap parking.
General parking is available in the Pickering Square Parking Garage, at Bass Park and in various parking lots and on-street parking areas in the downtown area. Portions of some residential neighborhoods near the concert site have been posted with temporary no parking signs.
